Our 4K videos of RAGE 2 on PC

The embargo on RAGE 2 has now been lifted so it is time for us to give you a chance to watch a bunch of 4K videos of the PC version. We haven't had a lot of time to play to game, let alone to master it, so do not expect to see our incredible skills in action, but we'll be live tonight at 9:00 CEST to prove you we can do much worse. Don't miss it!

Hi, Drift. Thanks for the videos.

Could you please say how's the performance on PC? The world map's size? The vehicles' controls? How the shooting feels? If there are any skills upgrade trees for the powers? How does the boomerang feel - weak/strong? Stuff like that.

I understand these might be better to answer and show during the livestream, so no need to answer them here. Just curious about these things since I haven't watched any trailer for Rage 2 with the exception of the first 3-4 ones. But I love Rage 1, best shooting feel of any FPS imho, hopefully this sequel improves even further on that.

It's seems like a terrible, empty open-world (thanks Avalanche) with solid shooting mechanics, but even then if someone is looking for fps with crazy stylish kills, it doesn't even come close to Bulletstorn in that regard.

It's not that terrible and it's not that empty. People are overreacting about it. Also, once you get the flying vehicle traveling is much faster.

But it does not make traveling any more fun. I've rarely used fast travel that much in an open world game.

About the game

What's up?
  • MrWhite
MrWhite At least for most gamers. Similar to when everything went to pci-e (14 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite I think we could be seeing a dramatic shift in PC hardware where it'll be essential to own both an SSD and a next gen card with the api's to use them. That also would probably require new motherboards (14 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite If a game is built from the ground up to take advantage of that, though... (14 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite I think it'll be down to next gen engines making use of it where applicable. So, basically, if a game allows it, hardware permitting, it'll be used. (14 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite @toelessfoot: Yeah, that's the thing, isn't it? PC's are a bit too much of an open platform hardware wise for it to be standard implementation. (14 Hours ago)
  • toelessfoot
toelessfoot @MrWhite: How long until we see that kind of thing in PCs do you think? I guess consoles are more future proof than a current PC in that regard. (14 Hours ago)
  • MrWhite
MrWhite new api's that talk to gpu and ssd's are the exciting thing there. That'll be present in both console and PC, eventually. (16 Hours ago)
