The year is almost over and things are starting to slow down in the industry, but it does not mean we still don't have a few nice surprises to share with you. Arise: A Simple Story is definitely one of them, to the point it's going to be one of the most memorable indie games we've played in 2019. If you want to know more, read our verdict and watch our gameplay video of the PC version. We only had time (and courage) to record a video review in French but the good news is you at least won't have to listen to my stuffy nose. Note: We'll also have Xbox One X videos as soon as we can.
Much like Journey and Inside, Arise: A Simple Story has taken us on a roller coaster ride we are clearly not going to forget. Not only is the game artistically superb, it is also great to play with a time control mechanic that gives it a peculiar flavor. Aside from the moving yet simple story, there are so many great moments gameplay wise, as the way time is controlled is dealt differently depending on the level you're in. As a result, there is a lot of variety, in terms of atmosphere, types of landscapes and even gameplay, which makes the 5/6-hour playthrough a joy to experience from beginning to end. There isn't much else to say as we don't want to spoil anything, so if what you see in the video is to your liking, don't hesitate and go buy the game as soon as it launches tomorrow.
@MrWhite: one rumour is that the multiplayer is going be some kind of free to play and could be out early. (6 Hours ago)
@alimokrane: I mean Halo was supposed to be THE launch game for the SeX. They have like zero first party launch games now. Thats not good... thats baaaad. (6 Hours ago)
I won't be shocked if they pan it off as a GAAS bollocks just to be done with it, and have it as a kind of early access game you'll pay full price for. (6 Hours ago)
Not if you're Microsoft and had planned on it being a launch title it isn't. Anyway, that thing needs delayed for a year at least. Absolute disaster from the XSX launch point of view. (6 Hours ago)
@MrWhite: That's GOOD news, not bad news. (6 Hours ago)
In other news, Halo Infinite is delayed. Oh dear [url] (6 Hours ago)
@MrWhite: lol. White, we're just gonna have to let that one go. Nothing is going to change what they wrote. They ended up splitting the fanbase so there's that. (7 Hours ago)
